The vertical went up about ten feet from the surf line, four radials laid straight back toward the road, and the whole thing was on the air twenty minutes after we parked. What I hadn't planned for was the timing: 20 m to Europe opened almost an hour earlier than my notes from St. Kitts suggested it would, and it opened loud.
What worked
- Salt water inside a wavelength. It is not a myth and it is not subtle.
- A vertical you can put up alone in fifteen minutes.
- Logging offline and syncing later. There is no signal on that beach.
What I'd change
More feedline. The battery. The chair.
